The cyber-attack that struck organisations around the world, including the NHS, was "unprecedented" in scale, Europe's police agency says. 유럽경찰에 의하면, 사상 유례가 없을 정도로 대규모의 이 사이버 공격은 NHS(영국의 의료보험 National Heal Service)를 포함한 전세계 기관들을 대상으로 했다.

Europol also warned a "complex international investigation" was required "to identify the culprits". 범인들을 찾아내기 위해서 국제적인 수사공조가 필요하다. (culprits: 문제 일으킨 장본인, 범인)

Ransomware encrypted data on at least 75,000 systems in 99 countries on Friday. Payments were demanded for access to be restored. 랜섬웨어(악성코드의 일종)가 지난 금요일 99개국에 있는 최소한 7만5천 시스템에 있는 데이타의 암호를 풀었다.

European countries, including Russia, were among the worst hit. 러시아를 비롯한 유럽 국가들이 최악의 피해를 입었다.

Although the spread of the virus appears to have slowed, the threat is not yet over. 바이러스의 전파는 속도가 늦어졌으나, 위협은 아직 사라지지 않았다.
