Philippine journalists have protested against what they say is a slow pace of trials

The Philippines is marking the fifth anniversary of the country's worst political massacre, which left 58 people dead. 필리핀 최악의 정치적 집단 살상으로 58명이 사망한 마긴다나오 집단살상 5주년을 맞는 필리핀

The victims, including reporters, were killed after their convoy was attacked in southern Maguindanao province. 기자들을 포함한 희생자들은 남부 마긴다나오 주에서 호송대가 공격당하면서 살해되었다.

More than 100 suspects are standing trial for murder, some of them members of the powerful local Ampatuan clan. They deny the charges. 100명 이상의 혐의자들이 살인죄로 기소되었는데, 그들 중 일부는 막강한 지역세력 암파투안家출신이다. 그들은 혐의를 부인하고 잇다.

Amnesty International says the trials risk becoming "a mockery of justice". 국제사면위원회는 이들에 대한 재판은 "정의에 대한 조롱"이 될 위험이 있다고 말한다.

Mass grave 공동묘지

The 23 November 2009 massacre is alleged to have been carried out by the Ampatuan clan to stop a political rival from running for the post of governor. 전해진 바에 의하면, 2009년 11월23일 암파투안家 사람들이 정적이 주지사 선거에 못나오게 하기 위해 자행한 것이다.

The clan's candidate, Andal Ampatuan Jnr, allegedly led his family's private army in stopping a convoy carrying his foe's wife, relatives, lawyers and a group of more than 30 journalists, and then gunning them down. 전해진 바에 의하면, 암파투안家 후보자 안달 암파투안 주니어는 상대진영의 아내, 진척, 변호사들 그리고 30명 이상의 사람들을 호송하고 있던 부대를 못 움직이게 하기 위해 가문의 사병을 동원하여 그들을 사살했다.

The victims' bodies were later found in a mass grave in a secluded mountainous area of the province. 희생자들의 시체들은 후에 그 州 산악지형에 있는 공동묘지에서 발견되었다.

Andal Ampatuan Jnr, his brother and their father are among 111 suspects on trial. 안달 암파투안 주니어와 그의 형제, 그리고 그의 아버지는 총 111명의 기소된 혐의자들 가운데 일부다.

However, court officials say many suspects are still at large, and prosecutors do not expect the court to hand down verdicts until next year at the earliest. 그러나 사법부 관리들은 많은 혐의자들이 아직 체포되지 않은 상태이고, 검사들은 최대한 빨리 내년까지 법원이 판결을 내릴 거라고는 기대하지 않는다.

2. 2009년 정적의 입후보를 방해하기 위한 대량살상, 그에 대한 기소는 2010년 시작되었으나, 

   지방의 호족이라, 법원에서도 눈치만 보며, 시간만 질질 끌고 있는 거 같다.

3. 사법정의도 바로 세우지 않으면서 경제를 살린다고 하는 것은 어불성설이고, 웃낀 얘기다. 

   동네에 출몰하여 가게들과 노점상의 돈을 빼앗는 조폭들을 놔둔 채 '마음 놓고 장사해!' 하는 꼴이니까.
