중국의 경우는 바른 말을 하면 부패혐의로 감옥에 보내고, 한국의 경우에 바른 말을 하면 용공좌파로 몰아버린다. 캄보디아의 경우는 얼마전 총 맞아 사망한 야당 인사 껨 레이처럼 바른 말을 하면 자객을 고용해 총으로 쏴죽여버린다. 미국의 치부를 까발렸던 스노우덴은 정보기관에서 눈에 불을 키고 미국으로 압송하려고 한다. 아래 기사에 등장하는 사람은 중국 최초로 주민투표에 의해 선출된 우칸촌 촌장 린 주루안인데, 내가 그에 대해 자세히는 모르겠으나 주민들에 의해 엄청난 신망을 받는 인물로서, 정권의 치부를 건드린 모양이라, 정권의 미움을 사서 옥고를 치르고 있다. 권력이나 정권의 치부를 건드리는 사람들은 동서를 막론하고 현대판 "수난받는 야훼의 종"이다.

Lin Zuluan was elected after huge public protests

A Chinese village leader involved in protests against land seizures has been sentenced to just over three years in jail on corruption charges.

Lin Zuluan's supporters, including much of his village of Wukan, say his confession to bribery was forced.

The village won a rare concession to elect their local leader after big protests against land grabs in 2011.

The town has held numerous protests in support of Mr Lin since he was detained in June.

According to Chinese state media reports, Lin Zuluan told the court he would not appeal.

He was also fined 400,000 yuan ($60,000) after being found guilty on several counts, including accepting bribes, Hong Kong's Ming Pao newspaper reported.
