This is the first time Jack Ma, a former English teacher, has topped the Forbes annual ranking of China's richest 전직 영어교사 잭 마가 포브스가 선정한 중국 최고갑부에 오른 것은 이번이 처음이다.

The founder of e-commerce giant Alibaba, Jack Ma, is China's richest person with a fortune of $19.5bn (£12bn), Forbes Media said. 전자상거래 거대 기업 알리바바의 창립자 잭 마(Jack 馬: 1964-)는 195억 달러(밝은 하늘: 19.5조원 상당함. 삼성 이건희의 재산규모 12조 9천억원보다 큰 수치)라는 거액을 소유한 중국의 최고 갑부(1위)이다.

Mr Ma's wealth more than doubled from last year's $7.1bn after his company's record-setting share sale in September. 잭 마의 자산은 지난 9월 자신의 회사의 주식을 시장에 상장한 후에 지난 해 71억 달러에서 두 배나 늘었다.

Entertainment firm Wanda's chief executive Wang Jianlin was knocked out of first place into fourth. (중국) 대련의 연예회사 완다(万达간체/萬達번체)의 회장 왕 지앤린(王健林: 1954-)이 1위에서 4위로 내려 앉았다.

The total number of billionaires in China rose to 242 this year from 168 in 2013, the Forbes annual ranking showed. 중국의 억만장자 총수는 2013년 168명에서 금년에 242명으로 늘었다.

Mr Ma, a former English teacher, started the company 15 years ago. Alibaba is now valued at more than $240bn. 전직 영어교사 마윈(잭 마/马云/馬雲)은 15년전 회사를 세웠다. 알리바바는 이제 2,400억 달러의 가치를 갖고 있다.

It is seen as an industry leader commanding more than 80% of China's significant online e-commerce market. 알리바바는 중국의 중요한 온라인 전자상거래 시장의 80% 이상을 좌지우지하는 명실상부한 산업의 리더 역할을 담당하고 있다.

Earlier this year Mr Ma also topped another rich list, China-based Hurun, which put his wealth at a much higher $25bn. 금년초 잭 마는 중국 기반의 갑부 리스트 후룬(胡润)에서 톱이 되었다. 이 후훈은 잭 마의 자산을 250억 달러로 평가했다.

Ma Huateng, also known as Pony Ma, of Tencent, China's biggest online firm, held third position. The company is the parent of the most popular messaging app in China WeChat. 중국최대 온라인 회사 텐센트의 포니 마(Ma Huateng/马化腾:1971-)이 3위를 차지했다.

His personal wealth jumped from $14.4bn, up from $10.2bn billion a year ago. 그의 개인 자산은 전년도 102억 달러에서 144억 달러로 늘었다.
